YES NO MAYBE

Intergenerational encounter

YES NO MAYBE
YES NO MAYBE
YES NO MAYBE

With Yes No Maybe, Malgven Gerbes and David Brandstätter pursue their reflection and investigation on legacy and corporeal knowledge. For this new creation, they are collaborating
with Eva Karczag – influential dancer with the Trisha Brown Dance Company (1979 — 1985), who, for the past 40 years, has been engaged in researching the kinesthetic heritage of that time period – and Ixchel Mendoza Hernandez, Mexican dancer and choreographer whose work and research are fed by the influences of the Berlin dance scene she’s been part of for several years.
Yes No Maybe is confronting the legacy of the post-modern movement with current choreographic approaches. Are the issues and challenges that used to drive the dancers and choreographers from that time still the same nowadays ? A lively and precise approach to the body in dialogue with the culture of concepts in the arts.

DANSER CANAL HISTORIQUE
’’Malgven Gerbes and David Brandstätter carry out a new investigation in the landscape of dance, provoking an encounter of two epochs on stage, a story of lineage
and transmission. (…)
And thanks to Yes No Maybe, artists and audience can meet a living part of the Judson Legacy that is still influencing the creations of today.’’
