NUAGES (Clouds)
For this new creation dedicated to young audience , ‘NUAGES’ (CLOUDS), shifts focuses on
movements emanating from the continuous and indescribable transformation of the emotions of the children aged from 6 to 9 year olds, like a cloud, celebrating collaboration and collective mutual support through a score made up of choreographic meteorological games.
The Premiere of the creation will be presented as part of the Plein Phare festival, in Le Havre, in November 2024.
Since 2019, shifts' choreographic projects for children have accompanied the growth and development of the very young and nurtured their creativity. In 2019-2020, shifts is developing its first creation dedicated to young audiences: “Les Sols” (Creation Le Phare CCN ). Aimed at children aged 0 to 3 and their caregivers, the piece invites the senses to be awakened, through tactile, visual and acoustic discoveries, facilitated
by allowing the little ones to move freely around the stage. From there, choreographer Malgven Gerbes wished to address slightly older children, aged 3 to 5, starting with the body, group cooperation and the imaginary journey. The piece “ Le Large ”, (Festival Ad Hoc Le Volcan SN creation), is a journey on the stage between danced gifts to watch and invitations to move in a tropical and aquatic universe, for young and old spectators.
.
For this new creation dedicated to children from 6 to 10 years old, NUAGES, we immerse ourselves in the slow transformation of clouds, meteorological phenomena, states of evaporation and the imagination that unfolds.Through a score of shared choreographic games, we celebrate collaboration and creative mutual aid, and express our own inner transformations.
A danced duet, performed by Malgven Gerbes and Margot Dorléans unfolds a continuous choreographic framework opening up spaces and optical games, and is joined by a group of children between 6 and 10 years old, who have previously taken parts in rehearsals and dance discovery sessions.
